We are selling 1/2 POUNDS of partially worked Fire Obsidian from Oregon. Most of the pieces have been trimmed down enough to show their colors. You will need to finish orientating and working each piece. If you've been wanting to try your hand at working this gorgeous stone, now is your opportunity to give it a try at a reasonable price.
We have listed very little of this rare stone this past year, and decided to put a few more pieces back on the market. This is authentic, very rare, Fire Obsidian. It was written up in the Rock & Gem magazine January 06. At first glance, the stone is black. Then as you move the stone, flashes of orange, green, pink, blue and yellow colors jump out at you. Sometimes, it appears as if there is a picture in the stone. Each stone is different and has it's own character. When working fire obsidian, you have to follow the movement of the colors, which can be difficult, and it makes it hard to capture the colors in the pictures, especially if they are still in the rough, as this 1/2 pound batch is. However, if you look closely, you can see the colors and slight patterns in each rough stone. There are multiple pictures of the rough stones, trying to show you the colors in them. |
