Just a Gorgeous natural chunk of Actinolite Cristal ready for your display cabinet! I find good actinolite cristals like this every once in a while, out collecting here in the Franciscan Formation in coastal California. I always bring it home. Gorgeous radiating acicular cristals, Actinolite is sometimes cabbed up for gemstones. I dont really know if this particular piece would cab out or not; I offer it here as a display specimen. This chunk is the chatoyant type, it reminds me a bit of seraphanite from Russia. This particular piece looks very nearly identical to the actinolite specimens from Minas Gerais, Brazil, that are shown on Mindat under "specimens". It measures 4" x 4" x 1.3" thick. It weighs 18.9 ounces.
