Lovely Parkfield Mountains Jasper & and blue glaucophane schist faced off cobble. Parkfield, Calif is a seismic hotbed, where the pacific and continental plates meet. This Stone looks like a recorded history of the the last 300 million years of Earthquakes and other plate tectonics type geological events. It has a ton of component parts, and looks very stirred up, broken up, and rehealed countless times. there is delicate blue glaucophane schist veining running thruout the stone, and yet the surface of the faced off edge appears completely healed, and smooth. When I look at the face of this rock, I can almost see the 1906 earthquake shaking the stone to bits. Geologists here, commonly use the term "Melange" to describe the very complex makeup of some of the jasper/agates in the franciscan formation. There is quite a bit of the blue glaucophane schist on two edges of this stone, as well as the fine line glaucophane veining running thru the stone.
