TWO RED RIBBON OBSIDIAN SLICES
This material was collected many years ago in the Glass Buttes area of Central Oregon by an old timer who is no longer with us. Can anyone else find this deposit? That's a question that causes one to wonder. These two beautiful slices are from Howard Ball's collection of this unique material. It polishes out to a mirror finish and the red ribbons jump right out of the stone.
Photographed wet, these 4 mm thick slices measure about 1 7/8" by 2 1/2" and 2" by 1 3/4" as pictured.
