This slab has a unique cross checking that shows a definative reticulated butterfly wing pattern. The colors are a rich coffee brown with a small slash of gold. The cross checking is red which gives the indication that the material had fractured and refilled with a different, mineral ladened agate. There are a couple of small fractures that can be sealed with Hot Stuff or omitted when cabbed. All in all this is a beautiful slab for cabbing or specimen. This material was collected over 40 years ago in Texas. I have bought most of what the original owner has left and an option on the balance. Very solid material with a wide range of colors; from chartrues greens and golds to vibrant reds and root beer colored clear agate. This one measures 3 1/4" x 2" x .25" and weighs 53.5 grams. I will be offering these select slabs from time to time. So check back often!
