We spent a few early adulthood years in Oregon and still go up to rockhound in the areas surrounding Prineville Oregon. We still have family up there which makes it nice.

Back in 1989 we began work on a home based business selling Rocks, Gems, Handcrafted Jewelry and Julie's Passion: Vintage Clothing and Accessories. We aquired our business license in 1991 and have worked at it since then. Thomas spent a few years just cutting cabs for our custome jewelry pieces and began to develop his skills as a Goldsmith. To help make ends meet in those early years, we also branched into antiques and vintage collectables, selling at local antique shows, flea markets, and about 10 major west coast shows a year. A lot of work! We are still listed with Dunn & Bradstreet as a Jewelry Shop, but for the last few years, I've been focused on finding and cutting rough Jaspers and Agates into slabs, and offering them up through the internet markets. I cab now only occasionally, and do a little faceting on an old Lee 6" Facetor. I love treasure-hunting the best, going out to the wilderness and searching for outstanding jaspers and agates. Next in line is getting that first look ata new slab as it comes off the rock saw. Taking pictures of pretty rocks, and posting then in an auction listing is more about sharing our love of rocks and showing off the facinating stuff we find, than about making a bunch of money. It also let's us connect with like-minded folks around the world, and that's perhaps the most precious Gem in this business!!!
