This is an end cut and is not polished.What an outstanding,mysterious looking slab.
Bear Creek(Oregon High Desert) Wood was world famous in the 40's&50's for its burnt, black wood.
Some of it commanding top dollar due to its beauty.
This is a 6oz.....3.5 " x 3.5" x.75" dandy,appears to have specular hemitite bands,so this will polish out nice.
Not much for fractures,very firm and dense.Has nice herring bone grains....indicative of a hardwood,but I cannot tell you what.
