Description
Swartz Canyon Golden Oak is one of the most famous petrified woods in the world for 80 years.The huge dig has been closed since the late '60's.I dug this myself about 10 years ago.The head of the duck is from a 50 year old collection and has a mirror polish on it,and shows what it is all about.
Swartz Canyon is on the Oregon High Desert,near Powell Butte.
I make little ducks out of rock sometimes as a way to stand it up for display.
This is about 1.25lb and 5" tall.Shown dry and polished.The back side shown is rough.The perch is a great piece with alot of upper end jewels that could be cabbed.
This will ship whole bird but a jeweler might just snap its head off and cut it up for dinner.!No cheep chick!
