This specimen of Arizona Rainbow petrified wood weighs about 2 lb. 11.5 oz. and measures about 4 x 3.5 on the large end and is wedged shaped. It is about 5.5" long. It has beautiful color and would make a bright addition to a rock or fossil collection. It does have some fractures, but you could probably get some cabs or free forms from it. It has a red bark section and would also add to you home or garden decor. It is from the Chinle formation in northeatern Arizona. It is from the extinct species of tree, araucarioxylon Arizonicum. The first two photos show comparisons of the wet/dry photos. The wet simulates how it might look if it were polished. The other photos show the remaining sides of the piece.
